Reflections

Welcome to the Technology Cohort's Blog for camp 2007. The main purpose for this blog is to have campers reflect on what they learned and how that learning will change the way they teach. Please take your time and write your thoughts.

I am very excited about the amount of experience in the tech cohort. We have a lot to share and learn froom you. Curriculum camp has always allowed me the time to formulate my thoughts about student learning. I hope you experience the same this week. Welcome to camp!

I can see that the tech cohort has much to offer in terms of knowledge and expertise. I feel very fortunate to be able to participate this week to expand my tech skills!

I am excited that I can take this information presented today back into the classroom. So many times I find something exciting and then can't relate it to Spanish. With the webquests, blogging and collorabative internet nformation, I know I can use it in my Spanish class. Now all would be great if I didn't have computer problems. Will Dan be here all week?

I'm afraid to say I'm alittle disappointed with my first day in the tech cohort. Maybe it's because I had set my expectations unrealistically? I feel like there was a lot of talking about different items but no real "meat" for me to chew on yet. I was really hoping I could escape to my hotel room afterwards and just dive into something...but I'm not feeling that way after my first day. Sorry...

I love how the technology cohort is designed. I have already found out so much information. I think this will help me build stronger relationships with my students. I loved the webquest, virtual summer school will be very helpful in meeting my goals. One goal was to develop a website. I am excited and could stay here many more hours. The time just flew by.

after this mornings session I was a little disappointed. I really wanted to learn something to take back on the break and try. This evening proved to be a little more beneficial. I got some good ideas of how to use technology in the classroom.

The sessions definitely expanded my knowledge about some of the ways in which technology can be used in the classroom! My level of enthusiasm has been raised!!

Both the Collaborative Internet and the Digital and Media Resources sessions are very applicable technology tools for use in my classroom. I am excited to put them in action. The 2007 Technology Cohort so far is off to a good start!

I am excited about the ideas that were presented today. Right now I feel like I am on overload. Tomorrow will be a fresh idea day. I can't wait to get started.

I think that this cohort has been designed for us in a way in which allows all of us to uncover what we want, not just be shown simple tools and how to use them. I feel that all of the staff has left sessions open ended for our own molding, not a concrete example allways.

I think we are off to a good start, espeially if we keep this adaptable to the various needs of the people here. It seems that, as expected, we have a wide-range of skills and abilities. I am excited to be here because I learned so much the last time I was here (two years ago) and I am here to learn new things. I was nervous at first because looking at the schedule, it seemed to be offering sessions that I have had through BOCES or in my district during the last two years. Thus, it was vital for my own interest level that the cohort facilitators molded the content this week to fit our individual needs. I feel they are trying to do that. It is a difficult task given the wide range of interests and ability levels. Regardless, I am excited to be here and will try to learn all that I can from those around me. I feel like a sponge every time I am around the tech junkies from BOCES. They know so much and are valuable resources. Just being around them is inspirational.

Can I just take a minute to say a big "Thank You" for your flexibility and consideration for our needs in making changes in the schedule.

It was wonderful.
