Is it really possible?

Up to this point, you have experience and learned many technological tools that could be used in the classroom. At this point, what do you think will support your new knowledge and use of it in the classroom....what will bring it down. What about 4 weeks from now? What about 4 months from now?

I think if I don't connect with our techs in this room, then I am going to et frustrated over something and then just stop doing it. Can we network somehow?

Positive experiences and practice will support the new technological tools and skills that I have learned this week. I need to spend time to become comfortable with the tools and hopefully my students have positive experiences with the technology.

I'm so fortunate because I work in a school district that has a very strong committment to supporting technology. I'll have access to the hardware, software, and technical support that I need. The only thing I can think of that will bring it down is the lack of time to actually create the new items I want to use. I'm going to try to set a time for that right into my schedule this year from the beginning. I really want and my students really NEED me to use these wonderful new alternate ways of learning!

The thing that will most support my new knowledge is having access to the programs that we were taught and the access to the equipment. It will bring the learning experience down if I am unable to get these things. It may take 4 months to be able to get these things if not longer.

I am EXTREMELY excited about many of the new technological tools that I have experienced and learned more about this week in the technology cohort! (Tech Cohort ROCKS!) Now, the challenge is to take what we have learned, return to our respective districts, and as Dr. Hirst suggested, create real and meaningful learning experiences for students of the 21st century. What will help me do that? Access to the same quality of resources we had this week would be the most critical component. We were fortunate to have a 1-to-1 computing ratio this week. At Bolivar-Richburg, we have great technology resources. The challenge will be to figure out a way to share those resources with the other teachers who are now just as excited as I am to implement these new tools on a regular basis. I dream of a day when I can have a 1-to-1 computing ratio in my own classroom. What will bring me down from this week? Nothing. I won't allow it. I am not really one to allow obstacles to stand in my way. Thus, I will somehow find a way to implement the tools I have learned this week...no matter what. The students of the 21st century need it.

I believe that using the technology to allow students to learn and explore will allow us to keep using these things we've learned. When I begin to get busy or cramped for planning time, I being to try to use technology to teach for me instead of as a tool to facilitate student learning. I believe that this week I have made some personal strides at learning how to use technology and look at it in a different way. Stop trying to do everything for the student to learn and begin to let the students do to learn.

What will support my new knowledge would be starting a network with the participants in the cohort and the tech staff. A blogging site. The tech staff who were great cheerleaders gave me the confidence to not let anyone say you can't do this. In addition saying to myself make it real and what are your affinities? I am not going to look for a negative that will bring it down all the knowledge and experience I have gained. I will find a way to get it done. 4 weeks from now I see a new type of classroom. 4 months from now students who are journey to make a mark on the world.

I have access to all the tech we have learned here this week in our computer lab. My goal is to be able to pass this information to the students at CLVS. I know that this will help them in gathering the information and using it for all the research projects they do.

I'm hoping that the motivation of my students and the ease of using technology will support this new knowledge I bring back to my class. What will bring it down? Possibly not having the time we've had this week to spend searching and creating new things.
